My Duncan is 6 months old, he's 45lbs. He can easily help himself to anything in the sink, on the kitchen table, or counter tops...how time flies! This is his second big boy poodle cut :)
This would have probably fit well for the "quirky me" challenge too since this page reveals my long standing but little known aversion to blue tableware or dishes. The first I let anyone know of it was as an adult when visiting my parents' home. My mother had a stray dish that had blue flowers about the edge and she set it at my place on the table. I cooly switched with her and quietly stated, "we don't eat on blue". She thought me odd and just let it pass, when actually i'd have invited a fun discussion on the topic. Oh well, here it is again and all i have left to say is that there is no food that a blue plate compliments. I cannot think of a naturally occurring blue food and a blue plate does not match with any common food. Blueberries are not blue: they are purple. My opinion was reinforced while watching the first Bridget Jones movie when she accidently made blue soup. All her guests were quite playfully amused but nonetheless lost their appetites when served.
When you click on this video it will prompt you to click to continue to YouTube to see the clip...it's safe, the author just wants you to visit his site for advertizing. You'll see Bridget's blue soup...after the first peek, move up to 2:40 and see her friends' reactions to the soup... it's not hilarious but definitely good spirited and cute.

For months now, I've had this sweet tooth that hasn't met even a bit of resistance... I'm fully aware how bad all that sugar is for me... Having always been a light-weight, I rationalize that the calories don't matter, empty as they are, and decide to delay improving the poor nutritional choice I've made. Oh well, I'll worry about it tomorrow... As always, thanx for stopping by :) peace, pam

My creative side is still on strike and had the darndest time using "music" to inspire me. Well, the best i could do was a band's name, Three Dog Night, from the late 60's-70's. And yes, those are dog bone trees in my layout :) . Anyway, the band was not my favorite but they were popular and had a few hit singles. I had some fun doing it and i think that's the point, and i was not going to give up! Here's are a few hits from the band. Think I like the 2nd one best...it's kind fun :) :
This is my second Pocket Letter and still as interesting to do as the first. In case you've not heard of pocket letters, it's a relatively new activity that started in this past winter and is taking off across the paper craft/mixed media. You can see more here at some YouTube links:

moth visitor
not getting about as much with the camera but did some shooting in the yards today. Got a nice macro of this little guy, sitting on one of my milkweed plants. I found out it's called a Speranza pustularia - Lesser Maple Spanworm Moth.

Passion Flower
"If passion drives you, let reason hold the reins."- Benjamin Franklin
my summer porch is coming together nicely: found a totally white Passiflora caerulea 'Constance Eliott' and it jumped into my car... took some pics, made a note card and a 12 x 12 for the wall. now i'm debating whether or not to send the large one out to make a canvas print...hmm, or pillows...just dreaming...
Tulip from my garden this year, backgrounds are my creations from last fall,
also using pics of zinnias and cosmos. Paint brush effect overlay Julie Mead.

Forget Me Not
Every time I think of you I always catch my breath And I'm still standing here And you're miles away And I'm wondering why you left There's a storm that's raging Through my frozen heart tonight I hear your name in certain circles And it always makes me smile I spend my time thinking about you And it's almost driving me wild And there's a heart that's breaking Down this long distance line tonight I ain't missing you at all Since you've been gone away I ain't missing you No matter what I might say There's a message in the wire And I'm sending you this signal tonight You don't know, how desperate I've become And it looks like I'm losing this fight In your world, I have no meaning Though I'm trying hard to understand And it's my heart that's breaking Down this long distance line But I ain't missing you at all Since you've been gone away I ain't missing you No matter what my friends say And there's a message that I'm sending out Like a telegraph to your soul And if I can't bridge this distance Stop this heartbreak overload I ain't missing you at all Since you've been gone away I ain't missing you No matter what my friends say I ain't missing you I ain't missing you I can lie to myself And there's a storm that's raging Through my frozen heart tonight I ain't missing you at all Since you've been gone I ain't missing you No matter what my friends say Ain't missing you I ain't missing you I ain't missing you I keep lying to myself Ain't missing you I ain't missing you I ain't missing you --John Waite - Missing You

Girl With a Tear
She held her grief behind her eyes like an ocean & when she leaned forward into the day it spilled onto the floor & she wiped at it quickly with her foot & pretended no one had seen.

Spring Clover Field
One thing I loved to do as a child (and now sometimes too!) is to make a crown for my Mary statue. My grandmother taught me how to do this with either dandelions or clover flowers. We'd sit on the lawn surrounded by the wildflowers, depending on where we were, and play, picking buds not too spent but not too young... a perfect way to spend time with each other :) Here's a link on how to do, so very easy...
Happy Spring! And as always thanx for stopping by...

Still in Creature Mode
Spring this year is late and the lingering chill unforgiving. April and only a few crocus popped up. So, without the tenacity to brave the elements seeking wonders of nature to photograph, I remain in creature mode with my art. Very satisfying, playing this way... guess that's what's important...
