Layout I created in the spirit of Maggie Taylor. It came so easily and it is so very me and persons who know me well will agree. Credits: Holliewood Studios Beasts of Burden, Mr Whiskers Steampunk, Hidden Vintage Studios Red Headed Stepchildren, Christina Renee Glass Negatives

Traveling Hen
Just playing with my new grunge skills, attempting a water scene and anxious to see what would come out. It's playful, yet not really, but then again... She just may be a "hanger"... To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment. -Ralph Waldo Emerson

Maybe Next Year - Take a Word Challenge This is about as "red and green" as I'm gonna get this year...another holiday orphaned...and though I thought I was a good girl, well, maybe next year...

Created for the Mischief Circus December Postcard Challenge. I hesitate to say too much about this layout...it's one of those that speaks to your heart, how you perceive Christmas... I see it as a celebration of divine love, a time when we remind each other of the birth of the divine embodiment of pure love and all it brings. Nature never loses its proximity to God... the inability to maintain it is a frailty owned by humans alone.

The idea for this layout is taken from Trudi Sissons aka two dresses studio, a true artist that I've admired for a few years. No one has an eye like hers, that I've seen anyway. Recently she did such an emotive layout that that I could not get out of my mind for several days. Here it is:
In trying to find why this was striking me, I decided to let the concept run freely in the creative realm to see what came out... Comparatively, aside from my layout being decidedly amateurish, I was struck by how unable I was to be darker, given the central image in the piece. I interpret this as my personal ordeals being seemingly bolstered with colors of life. How fortunate, I mused, and thus the Latin phrase place on the banner: FORTIS FORTUNA ADIVAT, translated roughly to "fortune favors the brave", or bold. And indeed, bravery has been a frequent companion...
I know that there are many people with personal struggles, and some day my "colors" may fail, and indeed some days it seems they are no where to be found, but they must be there. My wish and hope is for my flora and fauna photography and digital compositions to brighten and lighten hearts making someone's day better...

Dream is back!
My print is back and I am pleased with the framing... the daylight is short this time of year and my den walls are painted deeply so the photo is not high quality. She is nonetheless beautiful on my wall! Thanx again to Beth Conklin of Here on Earth digital art and photography!!

Neela and the Flower Vendor A Christmas layout just because 'tis the season! Neela is a Hindi name meaning "sapphire blue" which is interesting because I did the layout and gave her a blue scarf long before I named the horse. And the name i just picked out of the sky, maybe just like the color...
